Human-Wildlife Coexistence
Human–Wildlife Coexistence
Building Harmony Between Communities & Wildlife
The Himalayan landscapes of Ladakh are home to unique wildlife species such as snow leopards, wolves, foxes, and other important predators that share the same environment with local communities and livestock.
We work closely with nomadic herders, farming communities, village leaders, youth, and local institutions to promote peaceful coexistence between people and wildlife. Our efforts focus on reducing conflict, increasing awareness, encouraging community participation, and supporting conservation practices that benefit both wildlife and local livelihoods.
Through education, traditional knowledge, community engagement, and sustainable conservation approaches, we aim to create a future where people, livestock, and wildlife can coexist in balance across Ladakh's fragile mountain ecosystems.
